About Est-Ouest Auctions
Founded in 1984 by Takashi Seki, Est-Ouest was Japan’s first auction house. It has been auctioning modern and contemporary art, western decorative arts, Chinese paintings and antiques, jewellery and watches, and vintage wine in Japan for over 30 years, and in 2008 held its first auction in Hong Kong with great success. Est-Ouest was the first auction house to sell works by impressionist masters such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Camille Pissarro in Hong Kong, in 2008. Est-Ouest prides itself on its in-depth understanding of the Asian art market. It has also expanded into Singapore, with its first ever auction in Southeast Asia in January 2013.
